The Burning Times(1990)

剧情简介

False accusations and trials led to massive torture and burnings at the stake, and ultimately to the destruction of an organic way of life. The Burning Times is an in-depth look at the witch hunts that swept through Europe just a few hundred years ago. This beautifully crafted film advances the theory that widespread violence against women and the neglect of our environment today can be traced back to those times. 　　A Sacred Spring (2:11) -- Fear of the Witch (4:11) -- Branded as Heathens (3:33) -- A Modern Witch (2:14) -- Enforcing the Church of Rome's Will (2:35) -- Goddesses to Saints (2:51) -- Mother Goddess (2:39) -- Faith Rooted in Old Religion (2:49) -- Old Order Changes (2:51) -- Social Upheaval (3:01) -- Scapegoats (3:27) -- Degrading Women (2:28) -- An Age of Reform (4:38) -- Torturing Witches (4:14) -- A Charming Devil (3:57) -- Malleus Maleficarum (1:30) -- Remembering the Witches (5:21) -- Credits: The Burning Times (1:21)
