剧情简介

This is a brilliant piece of animation made by Croatian comrades. It was first shown at the festival of amateur animation in Zagreb. The subtitles are not literal but it is a good job since this is a dialect of Croatian language and all the difficulties of translating are already well known. Interesting enough, the dialect was the same one Goethe’s Faust was translated into some two hundred years back, but was held to be one of the best, probably due to the impact German language had on this dialect (kajkavski). 　　This is a short animated film based upon one of the poems from a poem collection “Balade Petrice Kerempuha” by one of the most famous and well heard of Croatian writers Miroslav Krleža. The poem was originally published in 1936, but this animation is taking modern situation into consideration underlining the similarity in social problems at the beginning of the last century and the beginning of this one. The similarities go even further since Krleža already felt the ambivalence of Europe’s dream of uniting. Not being blind towards certain inconsistencies of its politics and the poor, and weak position mid. Europe holds when whishing upon equality.
