It concerns men and their need to belong. Some of us turn a blind eye to the truth so that we belong to a group, either a group of friends or at a larger level, an ethnic group.” –Tom Collins 　　In 1977, six friends from west Ireland made a pact and struck out for England and riches. When one of the six, Jackie Flavin, dies, the remaining five men are forced to confront their petty rivalries, betrayals, realities, and status as rootless emigrants with no real home or identity at his wake in London. Director Tom Collins explores the meaning of home, family, country, and self in this powerful drama based on Jimmy Murphy’s acclaimed drama, Kings of Kilburn High Road. A moving tale of disenfranchisement, alienation, and the ceaseless search for place.
