超级人类-自我修复(2001)

剧情简介

Dr. Robert Winston, Europe's leading infertility doctor, hosts this TLC miniseries exploring the often amazing abilities of the human body to heal itself. In Superhuman Body: The Future of Medicine -- Self-Repair the series explores the advances medical researchers are making in the field of tissue regeneration. The program looks at the successful transplant into a living animal of a urinary bladder grown entirely in the laboratory from a tissue sample. Also examined is the ability of doctors to grow new skin from foreskin material discarded after the common procedure of infant circumcision -- a breakthrough that offers new hope to burn victims. Experts discuss the near-miraculous potential revealed by stem-cell experimentation, as well as the ethical dilemmas surrounding this nascent branch of medical science. ~ Sean Hurley, All Movie Guide
