After the election of Allende, the lumber conglomerate BIMA (Bosques E Industrias Madereras) shut down its Chilean operations and laid off workers. This film explores the reoccupation of the BIMA's factories and lands by 2000 workers. Like Nutuayin Mapu AKA Recuperemos nuestra Tierra, which Cahn codirected with Carlos Flores, this film makes extensive use of dramatizations which compliment the exquisite photography of workers pursuing their everyday activities in the timberlands with tightly constructed narrative intervals that heighten the workers' struggle to iconic, legendary stature by depicting 'ordeals' that they have overcome. 　　The film was shot by Héctor Ríos and edited by Rodolfo Wedeles (who has edited many of Raoul Ruiz's better known films). It also features a song by Angel Parra.
