This is an "archaeological" documentary according to Professor Lübbert. Castilla made it with his brother. A team of two people, a camera without sound, and Villa O'Higgins were sufficient to create Mijita. "When I started out, things were a lot cheaper to do. You just had to be eager to work," says Sergio Castilla of the makeshift production: editing by hand, checking the frames by candlelight, recording the voices separately, and projecting the final product of fifteen minutes for people on a white sheet. Mijita shows the women of Villa O'Higgins as "housewives" to spread awareness of the vital importance of their many roles. One of them describes the weekends when her husband and sons rest while her own chores never stop. In Mijita, Castilla delivered a strong message: "The housewife has many more duties than men." This piece was a contribution to the "agitation and propaganda" on behalf of Allende's candidacy," says Castilla.
